Growing up in a small rural town in Montana, Mendy Stanford had dreams of becoming a nurse. She made that dream a reality and for the last 27 years, has dedicated her life and career to helping others.
While this work has been notable and important, her most significant accomplishment has been becoming the chief executive officer of Adams County Health Center ― a role she stepped into almost a year ago.
She has big goals in that position. She and her team aim to hire several mid-level nurse practitioners or physician assistants, a community health worker, and to expand their hours at the health center.
“These goals would help Adams County Health Center see more patients in Adams County and surrounding counties, thus improving patient care and improving access,” she explained. “I feel so blessed to be a part of Adams County Health Center and worked with an amazing team.
Stanford said that she would love to finish her career working in this role at the clinic.
“I do not see myself in another career,” she said. “Even if I won the lottery, I would still be doing what I am doing. I love helping people and there are so many people that are less fortunate than me.”
