As A Body & Mind Health Services enters its fifth year of operating, CEO Patrick Michael Fithen plans to open two additional locations. Along with expanding its footprint, the company aims to introduce new services, including substance abuse treatment, medication management and day treatment programs for adolescents.

“These services are crucially needed in our communities, where such support is currently lacking,” he said. “With my years of experience in social services providing direct care and as a business owner, I am proud to have helped thousands of Idahoans with their mental health care needs.”

A Body & Mind Health Services has five locations in Boise, Middleton, Kamiah, Twin Falls and Moscow. Fithen received his bachelor’s in social science, an associate’s in criminal justice and a minor in Psychology from Boise State University. Recently, Fithen received the Boise State University Distinguished Alumni Services Award.

“This recognition is significant to me as it reflects the dedication and hard work I’ve put into my academic and professional journey,” he said. “Additionally, it underscores my company’s impactful work in the community and with the University, including offering numerous internships to students at our agency.”

Like many business owners, COVID-19 presented a major challenge. He opened his first office six months before the onset of COVID-19.

“We had to quickly adapt to operating under unprecedented conditions while facing a surge in mental health demands,” Fithen said. “Implementing telehealth policies and managing a remote team were essential steps. While other mental health agencies were shutting down, we are proud to say that we not only persevered but also grew our business, continuing to provide vital mental health support to our community.”
