Three Boise businesses rank among most desirable office locations nationwide

In a technological age that helps provide an abundance of remote work opportunities, some work environments still remain quite enticing, no matter where they are located on a map.

In a recent survey conducted by resume.io to determine the nation’s most desired work spots without regard to geography, one New York City company edged out several Oahu, Hawaii-area businesses for the premier spot ranking job sites where workers would choose to physically show up for work.

Bloomberg Headquarters, situated in Midtown Manhattan on the East Side of New York City, took home the top honors, while Honolulu nabbed three of the 10 best work sites according to 3,000 workers polled.

A total of 136 business made the list, including three Gem State companies, all located in  Boise: Simplot World headquarters (No. 106); Clearwater Analytics headquarters (No. 119); and Micron Technology Campus (No. 126).

“Remote and hybrid work have changed what employees expect from the office,” said Amanda Augustine, resident career expert for resume.io and a certified professional career coach.

“If people are going to spend time commuting and working onsite, the experience has to offer something more than a desk and fluorescent lighting.”

Respondents were asked to base their decisions strictly on the workplace itself, excluding key factors such as salary, perks, company culture or employer reputation.

Bloomberg’s “classic New York power-office feeling” helped land the media platform at the front of the list. Located on historic Lexington Avenue, the building is known for its glassy form, dramatic atrium, city-block scale and central courtyard.

In  the Aloha State, Honolulu’s Servco Pacific headquarters (No. 3), Hilton’s Grand Vacations Offices Hawaii Operations Hub (No. 6) and Hawaiian Airlines Corporate headquarters (No. 9) were all deemed highly desirable workplace locations.

Rounding out the top 10 businesses of choice were PGA TOUR Global Home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida (No. 2); Google St. John’s Terminal, also in Manhattan (No. 4); TikTok USDS Joint Venture (No. 5) in Scottsdale, Arizona; Patagonia headquarters in Ventura, California (No. 7); Bridgestone Americas headquarters at No. 8 in Nashville, Tennessee; and Amazon Spheres in Seattle, Washington (No. 10).
