Emily Baker has been appointed as the chair-elect of the 2021–22 Boise Metro Chamber board of directors. Baker, president and founder of Portman Square Group Communications, is currently a member of the board’s 2021 executive committee, and will replace Tom Mortell of Hawley Troxell at the head of the table. Baker also sits on the CSHQA corporate board and is active in the community, serving on the Boise State University Foundation Executive Board, the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho Board and as an Honorary Commander for the 366th Fighter Wing at Mountain Home Air Force Base. Baker is also an adjunct professor in the political science department at Boise State University. Her husband Mike and their three boys live in Boise. Previously, she was managing partner and a shareholder at Gallatin Public Affairs. She moved back to Idaho after a long career in Washington D.C., and New York. Baker served in the Bush Administration as a deputy director with the U.S. Department of Commerce and a regional administrator for GSA and traveled extensively to handle international media for the White House under several administrations. Previously, she worked at BGR Group and for former Idaho Governor Phil Batt.
