A new general manager for Bogus Basin

Brad Wilson croppedBrad Wilson has been appointed general manager of the Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area. Wilson will start in the position Nov. 9 as the seventh general manager in the ski area’s history.

Wilson was chosen by the Bogus board of directors, who said they interviewed candidates from around the U.S. and around the world.

Wilson has more than 30 years of experience in management, marketing, sales, and master planning within the ski and hospitality industry, resort officials said in a prepared release. He worked as general manager of Diamond Peak Ski Resort at Lake Tahoe, as president and COO of Catalina Island Resort Services, director of marketing at Alpine Meadows, assistant general manager at Mountain High Resort, and in lead marketing roles at Sugarbush, Bear Mountain, and Brian Head resorts.

Bogus, located about 16 miles north of Boise, is a nonprofit ski and recreation area that has been operating since 1942.  It has 2,600 acres of skiable terrain and a vertical rise of 1,800 feet. The ski area has three detachable high-speed quads, one triple chair, three double chairs, and two people movers.
