Mark H. Ruszczyk has been working in the health industry for over 30 years. “I started my career in health care because I saw first-hand how health insurance and care management can improve both the quality and length of life,” he said of his career and work. “I love the challenge of integrating health insurance and health care delivery. While I’ve worked for national and local, for-profit and nonprofit companies, I’ve always found fulfillment in some common outcomes ― exceeding market expectations, and driving membership, revenue and profitability.”

Most recently, Ruszczyk began at Regence BlueShield of Idaho as president. In his role as president, his work involves the day-to-day responsibility of overseeing the performance of the company.

“I enjoy working with our board and team members in setting strategy and executing our vision.” Ruszczyk shared.

“I was able to assemble a remarkable, high-performing leadership team that, together, has worked tirelessly to create the most customer-focused, fastest-growing health plan in the state.”

Ruszczyk said. When it comes to putting together his team, he is always looking for individuals who have an intellectual curiosity and a proven track record of performance in any type of industry.

As president, Ruszczyk notes that he and his team are expanding and accelerating their efforts to make health care easier for their members at Regence BlueShield.

“We’re doing that by enabling where and how high-value care occurs to improve affordability and access,” Ruszczyk said. “We’re also using our market-leading technology, data and insights to simplify experiences so members can make better health care decisions.”
