Tyler Alvarado – Startup Community – Power List

Tyler Alvarado said that from a young age, he always had an entrepreneurial spirit. He graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Washington State University and planned to pursue a career in investment banking. In 2007, when he was entering his professional career, the recession began, so he decided to pursue private small-business opportunities instead.

In 2015, Alvarado linked up with two other business partners and decided to help solve the problems that plagued the additive manufacturing industry. They were motivated to find a solution to weak materials, slow print speeds and small build volumes. Before long, Continuous Composites and its patented Continuous Fiber 3D Printing (CF3D) technology was born.

Today, Continuous Composites has grown from a “napkin-sketch” concept to a company that does business with partners and customers around the world. To date, the company has raised approximately $30 million since inception, and it now employs 35 people with high-tech jobs in Coeur d’Alene. This year, the company anticipates hiring 25 new employees.
