Major timber company expands services in Pacific Northwest

A major producer of construction materials has announced an expansion into construction services.

Mercer Mass Timber, a division of Mercer International, Inc. and based in Spokane, launched Mercer Mass Timber Construction Services, announcing the new division on March 4.

The service offers on-site installation for fully integrated construction and project consultancy for clients wanting guidance and strategic support from an expert. Mercer believes the expansion will allow its customers to see more project efficiency and faster completion times.

“In order to be competitive in today’s market, our customers need the assurance that their projects will be completed on time, on budget and with exceptional aesthetics and quality,” said Brian Merwin, senior vice president at MMT. “Now, with the launch of [our construction services], we’re extending our mass timber production capabilities to support the entire project lifecycle with a value-engineering-led approach.”

He went on to say that by offering the “comprehensive” services, which includes planning, scheduling, on-site installation and quality control, their clients can receive what they need from one vendor.

The construction services the new division offers includes full mass timber structure erection; logistics planning and installation sequencing; lift/bracing engineering; site supervision and consultation; construction scheduling; modeling and technology; project management; labor management; quality control; and water mitigation implementation.
