Tamarack Resort acquisition doubles acreage for expansion

The acquisition of 500 acres connected to one of Idaho’s resort destinations will allow its owners to develop 700 new residential units.

Tamarack Resort, about two hours’ drive north of the Treasure Valley, has purchased an additional 500 acres connected to its existing 300 acres.

According to the resort, its future development will be “a mix of residential units that blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural beauty.” Tamarack’s new property lies to the west of its existing property and ski terrain, and just southwest of a proposed area of ski expansion that is currently U.S. Forest Service lands.

Many of the residential units to be developed will have what the resort is calling direct “coveted” access to ski areas.

“This acquisition underscores Tamarack’s commitment to completing its master development plan for American’s only ski, golf and lake resort and becoming the nation’s premier four-season resort,” said Scott Turlington, president of the resort.

Along with those plans, Tamarack will be opening its Mid-Mountain Lodge in December this year, which is a 12,000-square-foot lodge located halfway up its main slope. It will offer dining, events and a private wing for members of The Club at Tamarack.
