Utilizing a philosophy focused on building better rather than faster, Honor Built Homes has been honored with two BUILD’s Construction & Engineering Awards, the third consecutive year the company has been recognized for its innovative and efficient home-building efforts.
Based out of Coeur d’ Alene, the company was awarded both the “Emerging Construction Innovator of the Year” and the “Recognized Leaders in Off-Site Construction” awards for 2026, Mountain States USA.
“Housing affordability, skilled labor shortages, rising construction costs and increasingly long building timelines are challenges facing communities across the country,” said owner Katrina “Tina” Holtz. “We believe our industry has an opportunity to address those challenges by embracing smarter construction methods.”

Honor Built Homes specializes in prefab panelized and modular construction, providing off-site building solutions for homeowners, developers, investors and builders. By shifting significant portions of the construction process into a controlled manufacturing environment, off-site construction can help reduce delays caused by weather, improve material efficiency and quality control, while significantly shortening building timelines.
“Off-site construction allows us to combine proven building practices with modern processes and technology,” she said. “We believe it will play an important role in the future of residential construction.”
The “Emerging Construction Innovator of the Year” award recognizes the company’s commitment to improving the residential building process through innovative construction methods and solutions.
The second award, “Recognized Leaders in Off-Site Construction” acknowledges the builder’s focus on advancing prefab, panelized and modular construction as viable alternatives to conventional site-built construction.

“These awards are not simply about recognition,” Holtz said. “They reinforce why we are doing what we are doing. We want to continue educating homeowners, builders and developers about what is possible with off-site construction and help move our industry forward.”
The company was launched on the premise that innovation trumps speed in the construction industry.
“We founded Honor Built Homes on the belief that there is a better way to build ― one that combines craftsmanship and thoughtful design with modern construction methods that can reduce timelines, minimize waste and create a better overall building experience for our clients,” she said.
