Slope lovers, shredders and general snow enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as ‘s is greater than normal.

Since January of this year, the state’s snowpack has been above average. As of Friday, March 20, that trend has continued, with some areas such as the Boise, Payette and Lower Snake River watershed at 145% of normal levels.

Most areas around the state are between 90% to 109% of normal levels, with only a few regions reporting lower snow water levels, such as the Big Wood, Little Wood and Big Lost regions reporting numbers in the 50% to 69% levels, though those areas were well above normal at the start of the year.

The numbers lead state officials to believe that Idaho will have adequate for the coming year.

It’s also good news for such as Bogus Basin, which reported on March 20 that its snow base had measured 100 inches, referring to it as “an exciting milestone.”

“Guests at the area are enjoying some of the best of the season, with nearly three feet of fresh snow falling in the past week,” the resort’s website read.

The resort stated it would be open for skiing through mid to late April, depending on conditions.

“Spring is the perfect time to try or snowboarding, thanks to the amazing , soft snow and easy access,” said Jamie Zolber, director of skier services at .

As of Friday, reported two fresh inches of snow overnight, giving them 10 inches of base. Snow showers were forecasted throughout the day.
