Betsy Davies’ journey to her current career path has been unconventional. “[It] was shaped by resilience, self-determination and a deep commitment to equity in all things,” Davies shared. “As a young single mother who left high school early, I earned my equivalency and carved my path without formal credentials ― teaching myself everything I needed to know to succeed in the professional world. Today, I serve as a bridge builder between technology, education and community empowerment, with a vision rooted in justice, inclusion and innovation.”

Davies’ professional background lies in business operations and financial management which has seen her in roles including programs and events manager with the Meridian Chamber of Commerce and director of grant accounting and compliance with the Idaho Hispanic Foundation. Her career has spanned a variety of work such as establishing operations, managing large scale events, and overseeing significant grant funding.

Throughout her career, Davies has gained extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and grants management. Paired with her ability to learn and share knowledge of digital tools, she’s become an invaluable asset to each and every team she’s been a part of, particularly in today’s technology-driven world.

With such an extensive background in business operations, Davies’ career and experience led to her most recent role in 2024. She now serves as vice president of operations for Idaho Technology Council (ITC). As vice president of operations, Davies has been instrumental in establishing new compliance processes for the organization with an understanding of how to balance vision and execution. She also recently developed and launched the TechBridge Mentorship Program which aims to connect students with industry mentors and provides support service grants to students at risk of dropping out. The program helps to support a range of services for students including transportation, housing, and mental health and substance abuse counseling support.

Additionally, Davies has also launched the High-Tech Connect monthly networking events which have helped to increase ITC partnerships and membership.
Outside of her work with ITC, Davies also serves as a Microsoft TechSpark Fellow. For the last two years, she’s led efforts to develop digital inclusion strategies that aim to help underserved, at risk women become more digitally connected. Through these efforts, Davies seeks to foster more economic opportunities for others.

Her commitment to empowering others is clear in her professional and personal life. “At the heart of my philosophy is a belief in the interconnectedness of all things ― a worldview deeply influenced by the teachings of British philosopher Alan Watts,” Davies said. “This lens has guided me to see systems holistically, nurture people’s potential, and advocate for structural change that uplifts everyone, especially those historically left behind. I am a proud supporter of organizations like the ACLU and the Human Rights Campaign, and I view my work as a continuation of the long fight for human dignity and access.”
