This Boise hotel just ranked tops for the town in national survey

A hotel just shy of two years old was recently named as the No. 1 best hotel in Boise. It’s also in the top five in all of Idaho.

U.S. News & World Report recently released its annual Best Hotels List for 2026 and Hotel Renegade, which was completed and opened at 11th and Grove Streets in downtown Boise in May of 2024, took the top spot in the city, fourth in the state overall and No. 777 in the U.S. overall.

In its description of the hotel, UNWR lauded Hotel Renegade for “bringing a fresh new lodging option to the city. Accommodations are decorated in a moody and bold but inviting color scheme ― think navy, deep brown, amber and dark gray.” Also mentioned were the hotel’s in-house restaurant, the Baraboo Supper Club, the Lobby Bar and the Blue Collar Coffee Co.

The property is one of five owned by Wisconsin-based Geronimo Hospitality Group that were named to the list.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of the people behind these properties,” said Erin McDonald, vice president of lodging at Geronimo. “Our teams show up every day with a deep sense of pride and purpose, delivering thoughtful hospitality rooted in genuine care for our guests. We’re honored to see their work recognized on a national stage.”

Coming in at No. 2 in Boise is the Inn At 500. The publication touted the hotel’s amenities, stating, “The boutique hotel’s elegant accommodations contrast with the rugged outdoor landscape and capture the robust spirit of Idaho’s capital.”

The No. 3 spot went to The Sparrow and No. 4 is Hotel 43. The newly renovated Grove Hotel rounded out the top five in Boise and ranked 11th overall in the state.

Statewide, Shore Lodge in McCall was ranked first for Idaho hotels, being noticed for its high customer satisfaction and numerous amenities and access to all manner of outdoor activities year-round.

The Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene ranked second in the state and Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley was third.

Nationally, the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, ranked first in the nation with five critic awards and classed as a five-star hotel.
