Estela Rosales says her mother, who raised 10 kids by herself, demonstrated strength and resilience, and that was something that made a huge impact on Rosales.
“Everything I face feels possible because of the example she set,” Rosales said.
Rosales started her banking career at a young age and quickly worked her way up the ladder, serving as a branch manager. This strengthened her leadership capabilities and now with a decade of banking expertise under her belt, she works in private banking to help high-net-worth clients navigate complex financial goals.
“I am proud to have built a successful career in banking and finance despite not holding a traditional college degree,” Rosales explained. “It’s been an incredibly rewarding journey. I believe in leading with integrity, service and empowerment, and in creating opportunities for others to grow and succeed. I approach challenges with determination and a focus on continuous learning, striving to lead by example and support those around me.”
Rosales explained that one of her biggest goals is to advance leadership opportunities for women and young professionals in the financial industry, while also giving back to her community through nonprofit involvement and mentorship.
“I aim to continue fostering teams and initiatives that drive both professional and personal growth for those I lead,” she shared.
When asked about other mentors and leaders in her career that have had a positive influence on her, she named Juan Sanchez, a guiding mentor and supporter. She also says her boss Ramez Haleth and Scott Schlange, an industry leader and KeyBank Idaho Market president have played a big part in her success.
“Their guidance, along with the dedication and collaboration of the teams I’ve led, has shaped my growth as a professional and as a leader,” she said.
She has had an impact as well, Schlange said.
“Estela collaborates seamlessly with partners across multiple lines of business, both within our state and throughout the broader KeyBank footprint,” he said. “Idaho’s rapid population growth makes her contributions more important than ever, and she consistently finds innovative ways to help clients and colleagues achieve their financial goals and long-term aspirations.”
He added that Rosales is “deeply committed to our community. She is a genuine changemaker. Through her volunteer work … she demonstrates a sincere dedication to serving others and strengthening the region we call home.”
Rosales said that perseverance is truly a hallmark of who she is, both personally and professionally, and she hopes to be a light for those around her.
“As a single mom who has overcome challenges, I’ve worked my way up within my corporation with a go-getter mentality, resilience and a focus on the positives,” she said.
When she’s not working, Rosales is an active part of the community. She is a committee member for the College of Western Idaho Opening Doors Committee, the professional development chair for KeyBank Young Professionals Board, and is a board member for the College of Western Idaho Foundation.
In addition to various KeyBank top performer awards, she has also been recognized by the Women’s and Children’s Alliance as a Tribute to Women and Industry honoree for outstanding contributions to her industry and leadership as a business professional.
Ram Haleth, senior vice president of KeyBank said, “She brings a rich perspective to every space she serves, consistently demonstrating a deep commitment to giving back. Estela is a hardworking, community minded professional who leads with heart, purpose and integrity, making her truly deserving of this recognition.”
Rosales, who loves the summer season and the warm nights that make life feel a little lighter, said that when she thinks about the future, she will continue to aim high, stay driven and trust the journey.
“I aim to set a strong example for my children and inspire other women in similar situations to embrace opportunities, overcome obstacles and thrive.”
