Gone from the revamped and expanded Boise Airport, the old Boise Cascade Corp. hangar soon will reappear – as part of Inland Crane’s new headquarters.
Early next year, Inland Crane plans to move the 12,000-square-foot hangar to a 9-acre site on South Supply Way, off Gowen Road in southeast Boise, and expand the building by about 2,000 square feet, Sales Manager Jeremy Haener said.
Including an office building of 3,200 square feet under construction, Inland Crane will occupy twice as much land and office space, nearly three times as much shop space, and significantly more yard space compared to current leased quarters on Bennett Street south of Federal Way, he said.
“And the building is being reused,” Haener said.
The hangar was taken down about two years ago to make room for construction at the Boise Airport. Boise Cascade moved aviation operations to new quarters off Commerce Avenue.
McAlvain Construction, Boise, and Leavitt & Associates Engineers, Nampa, are involved in the Inland project on Supply Way, for which a cost estimate was not released.
Haener said the business plans to occupy its new office by mid-November. The shop site is being prepared, but structural work won’t start until January, he said.
The Boise State University Foundation owned the parcel before Inland acquired it.
Founded 14 years ago, Inland Crane operates a crane service and a division called Inland Foundation Specialties. The business employs about 25 people. Jim Haener is president, and co-owner with Kevin Haener, Keith House and John Rose.
