Boise Contemporary Theater managing director steps down

Helene Peterson will leave her post June 30 as managing director of , a position she has held for 13 years.

Peterson did not announce any immediate plans. Under her leadership, the BCT budget doubled to $750,000 and the company gained national recognition as a first-round recipient of a $10,000 National Theatre Company Grants from the American Theatre Wing.

“Helene’s tireless dedication, phenomenal organizational skills and kindness will be missed at BCT,” said Matthew Cameron Clark, the company’s founding artistic director. “We wish Helene every success in her new endeavors.”

Peterson oversees the day-to-day operations of the theater company, which stages four plays a year in the theater it owns on Fulton Street.
