Eight Idaho businesses have made significant revenue growth in the past few years, which has propelled them onto the 2020 Inc. 5000 list, a prestigious list of the fastest-growing privately held small businesses in the U.S.
Medical Information Software Technology — a Coeur d’Alene-based health care software and consulting business — has joined the ranks this year, and Jodie Sinclair, president and CEO, said that indicates success of the business’s mission.
“I feel this honor is a recognition that’s really been earned by my team,” Sinclair said. “We have a strong culture that elevates the success of our clients through a human touch. We strive to be the company that comes to mind first, when a clinic needs help.”

Medical Information Software Technology (commonly called MIST) had an average of 71% growth in the three-year time period Inc. 5000 measured, which ranked MIST at 4,497. MIST, which has about 19 full-time employees, was founded in 2006 by Sinclair and another partner.
The business is 100% self-sufficient, she added, and that is also attributed to ensuring each department operates as a profitable business unit.
Altogether, 27 Idaho businesses made the Inc. 5000 list this year (up from 21 last year), with 19 returning from previous years. Business products and services, construction and software were the most represented industries.
Other Idaho businesses new to the list:
Small, local businesses have been historically touted as the “lifeblood” of Idaho, and industry leaders and state government leadership have long-held that not only is the Treasure Valley a strong environment for local businesses to be successful but the entire state of Idaho is a place small businesses can thrive.
Treasure Valley businesses alone report $303.2 million in revenue on the list.
In Time Tec, a software company in Meridian, is lauding its fifth year on the Inc. 5000 list, an honor that only 4% of companies achieve, according to Jeet Kumar, In Time Tec’s CEO and co-founder. In Time Tec made the list at 3,722 with nearly 98% growth.
“Being in the list of one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in America for the five years in a row shows our employees’ consistency and commitment to creating abundance for our partners and clients,” Kumar said in a statement. “In Time Tec to find itself in this elite group of companies is a result of its unshakable stand for employees, partners, clients, and communities it operates.”
In total, these 27 businesses raised $596.7 million in revenue, according to the Inc. 5000 list, and the median growth was 209%. Approximately 966 jobs were added.
