Life’s Kitchen receives $50,000 grant from Jacques Pépin Foundation

Life’s Kitchen, a Boise nonprofit providing culinary workforce training to opportunity youth in southwest Idaho, has been named a 2026 Partnership Circle Grant awardee by the Jacques Pépin Foundation, receiving $50,000 over two years.

Life’s Kitchen serves young adults disconnected from school and work ― many facing poverty, justice-system involvement or housing instability ― through a free 14-week program combining hands-on food service training, GED support and employability skills development.

The grant will fund additional training for Life’s Kitchen’s culinary arts staff, expanded GED tutoring support and continued mental and physical health resources for trainees.

Last year, 100% of Life’s Kitchen graduates earned a food handler’s certification, 88% secured employment or returned to school within 90 days, and 47 young adults earned their GED.

The Boise nonprofit is one of four 2026 Partnership Circle Grant awardees nationwide. The Jacques Pépin Foundation, founded in 2016 by the Pépin family, has disbursed more than $2 million to more than 100 community-based culinary arts training programs over the past seven years.
