Caldwell food tech company expands operations with new Washington location

What started 48 years ago in Caldwell has grown to supply its products and services on a global basis. The latest expansion has taken the company into neighboring Washington state.

Reyco Systems, a manufacturer of food processing equipment, has expanded into Eltopia, Washington, with a new manufacturing and repair facility.

The facility is more than 15,000 square feet and is equipped for fabrication, general shop tooling, welding, parts inventory, pump repairs and office meeting space. It sits on six acres and has plenty of room for future growth as needed.

“Our Reyco workforce, boasting exceptional talent with decades of industry experience and deep product knowledge, is a testament to the expertise found in the Tri-Cities/Columbia Basin region,” said Clay Cooper, president of the company. “Our goal with this expansion is to strategically position this Reyco talent closer to our customers in Eltopia, leveraging the great experience and skills inherent in the Columbia Basin.”

Cooper went on to say that the expansion enables the company to offer “face-to-face engagement” and shorter repair times.

Since opening the facility, customers have already started coming in, said Sean Dixon, who is the director and site manager for the Eltopia location.

“Having a footprint in Eltopia is already providing positive results,” he said. “Not (long) after erecting the Reyco sign above the building, we had customers coming through the front doors requesting our services. That has a lot to do with the Reyco brand and the reputation we have in the industry.”

The new location will enable Reyco to provide support to its numerous clients in the Columbia Basin. It specializes in fresh-cut fruit and vegetable processing and creates products such as air make-up units, fryer air washers and its Oil Miser oil recovery system, which is used by potato processing plants across the country.
