CCDC expands flexible parking options in downtown Boise

Parking just got easier in downtown Boise.

Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC) has added five new and expanded ParkBOI parking options.

As of Aug. 1, the ParkBOI new lineup includes the Limited Pass, All Access Pass, Hourly Parking Passport, Overnight Pass and a Shared Monthly Account.

“Downtown Boise doesn’t operate on a one-size-fits-all schedule and parking shouldn’t either,” said Zach Piepmeyer, director of Parking and Mobility for CCDC. “We listened to our customers and the downtown community, then developed more flexible parking options that reflect how people work, visit and do business today.”

Created in response to feedback from current passholders and input gained through public outreach efforts, the new products are expected to complement existing parking options. First Hour Free parking will still be available daily between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.

According to CCDC, the new options will offer more “flexible parking solutions” for a variety of businesses, employees and customers seeking the convenience of pass-style garage access without having to commit to a monthly parking pass.

“Whether someone commutes every day, works a hybrid schedule, manages employee parking or enjoys downtown in the evenings, there’s now a ParkBOI product designed to meet their needs while helping keep downtown accessible for everyone,” he said.

Unlike privately owned parking facilities, revenue generated through ParkBOI is reinvested back into Boise’s public parking system. Funds generated help maintain existing garages, improve customer experience, support mobility issues and strengthen downtown economic vitality.

“Public parking is about much more than providing a place to leave your vehicle,” Piepmeyer said. “It’s an investment in downtown Boise’s economy.”

Founded in 1965, CCDC is Boise’s official redevelopment and urban renewal agency. The agency serves as a catalyst for quality private development through urban design, economic development and infrastructure investment with a goal of igniting diverse economic growth, building attractive urban centers and promoting a health community.
