Golfers to get a grill with their greens in new Boise project

A municipal golf course is getting a sizable upgrade, giving players more options.

The new facility at Warm Springs Grill and Golf recently had its official groundbreaking and includes an improved restaurant, event space and pro shop.

Along with those projects, the 18-hole course along the Boise River will have added parking and a large, covered patio. The City of Boise expects the enhancements to increase the number of visitors the facility receives.

An anonymous donor gave the city $3.5 million to get the project underway and remaining costs will be paid through the city’s budget and golf course revenue, officials reported.

“This golf course, located just minutes from downtown and a variety of Boise neighborhoods, is an important part of our city’s history and recreational offerings,” said Mayor Lauren McLean. “We are proud to take this step toward enhancing the experience for everyone who visits, and I look forward to enjoying this new facility with the community when it opens in 2025.”

The facility is expected to be completed by next summer.

Though construction will be ongoing, the course is still open for play. Golfers can expect to be detoured around areas that are being worked on. People using the greenbelt pathway that runs along the course are cautioned to be careful through that section and to keep an eye out for signs at new golf cart crossings.

“This project is the realization of decades of hard work, planning, partnership and advocacy from Warm Springs golfers and association members,” said Doug Holloway, director of Boise Parks and Recreation. “Soon, this incredible municipal golf course will have a state-of-the-art pro shop, event space and dining experience to match the course experience.”
