A special donation will provide year-round help for a special cause in the Treasure Valley.

On June 7, Zions Banks donated $12,500 to Special Olympics Idaho during the annual Idaho Summer Games in Caldwell.

Kristi Kraft, CEO of Special Olympics Idaho, was presented a check by Dave Moore, manager of Zions’ Wilder branch.

According to Zions Bank, “the donation will be used to help Special Olympics Idaho provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The organization empowers its athletes and helps them become physically fit and productive.”

The bank pointed out that the organization has worked to foster and celebrate inclusion for more than 50 years within the state.

“At Zions Bank, we recognize that we can build stronger communities through inclusivity and creating opportunities for all,” Moore said. “We’re honored to support Special Olympics Idaho in their mission to empower athletes and give them a chance to thrive.”

At the annual Summer Games event, several businesses turned out to take advantage of the vendor spaces which were provided at no cost by the nonprofit organization to help serve the thousands of anticipated attendees at the event.
