Crystal Pidjeon’s journey to her current career began with a teenage job in human resources, though she initially pursued medical coding certification before finding her true calling at Boise State University.
Today, Pidjeon serves as senior director of Human Resources Operations at BSU, where she has been a part of the human resources department for two decades. Since joining the university in 2004, she has steadily advanced through various roles, spending the last decade in leadership positions before stepping into the director role two years ago.
A certified professional with a Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) from the American Payroll Association, Pidjeon has further enhanced her expertise through certificates in Inclusive Leadership, Design Thinking, Servant Leadership and Leaders Who Coach. She also holds the Leadership Development Master Badge with the State of Idaho.
“In the past year I have been given the opportunity to collaborate with others in our campus community to work on managing the availability, usability, integrity and security of our data,” she said.
“By streamlining operations through data governance we are able to improve the quality, reduce redundancy, and provide well defined policies, procedures and training.”
In her role, Pidjeon sees herself contributing to Idaho’s broader success by helping provide educational and employment opportunities that boost economic growth and strengthen community connections. She maintains active memberships in several professional organizations, including CUPA, AMA, APA and HEUG.
