A co-owner at a Boise architectural firm is joining one of the company’s founding partners in leadership, continuing to uphold its vision.

The architecture and erstad, announced that Katrina Kulm, , co-owner, will be taking on the role of managing partner, leading the company alongside Andy Erstad, AIA, who founded the company 27 years ago.

Kulm, the company stated in a release, “represents the future of erstad.” She has been in leadership in the company for more than a decade and has guided projects such as the Idaho Youth Ranch campus and educational facilities in the region. The company noted that her new role was not only significant for erstad itself, but for women in leadership roles in the architectural industry.

“Our firm has always been about more than just great architecture ― it’s about the people we work with and the communities we serve,” Andy Erstad said. “This transition marks the next chapter in our journey, building on our success while embracing new opportunities to grow and innovate. Katrina has been an integral part of that growth over the past decade, and I have full confidence in her leadership and the direction she’s taking the firm.”

Kulm shared Erstad’s sentiments over her new role.

“The strength of erstad has always been in our people and our shared passion for creating meaningful spaces,” she said. “This transition is about honoring our past while looking ahead to a bright future, where we continue to serve our clients and communities with the same dedication and excellence.”

Along with Kulm’s new position, Adrienne Lane-Martin will work as principal, Sherri Potter as finance director, and Chad Weltzin as a leading design principal.

“We’ve built something great, and now we have the opportunity to make it even better,” Erstad said. “With this team in place, and with Katrina by my side as my fellow partner, I have full confidence that erstad will continue to thrive for decades to come.”
