Financial topics from investing and mortgages to debt handling and goal setting will be covered at an upcoming inaugural conference designed to help women become more financially confident.
On June 9 from 7:45 a.m.-5 p.m., the North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference is scheduled to be held on the campus of North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene.
The keynote speaker will be Ellen Rogin, a New York Times best-selling author, who writes about financial topics. In her address, Rogin will speak about shifting money mindsets to bolster financial confidence and will offer advice to help women build healthier relationships with their finances.
The Idaho Department of Finance is among the sponsors of the event, and stressed the importance of such events.
“This important inaugural event provides a valuable opportunity to reach more women across the state to build financial knowledge, strengthen financial literacy and gain confidence in managing finances,” said Patti Perkins, director of the agency.
Along with the keynote address, other sessions will cover topics such as investing, mortgage planning, health care finances, credit and debt management, financial goal setting and others.
“These sessions will offer relevant insights and real-world strategies for achieving financial stability and success,” a release from IDOF stated.
In addition, more than 20 scholarships worth $1,000 to North Idaho College will be awarded at the conference. Interest in the scholarships can be noted when registering for the event.
The Department of Finance will be among many exhibitors at the conference and will offer free financial educational materials to attendees.
