Strite design + remodel marks its 50th anniversary by celebrating not just years in business, but a legacy of craftsmanship and community trust. Founded in 1975 by Jim Strite, the company began as a solo venture rooted in family tradition and a commitment to excellence. His goal was simple but ambitious: deliver remodeling projects on time, on budget, and with integrity.

From Solo to Synergy

In 1991, Bob Mundy joined the team, bringing a wealth of hands-on trade and project management experience. He became Project Manager in 1992, working alongside Jim and Business Manager Brad Millsapugh. The synergy between the three leaders allowed Strite to grow strategically and fostered a collaborative, team-based approach that set the tone for decades to come.

Evolving into Design + Build

In 1998, Strite transitioned into a full design-build firm, hiring a designer and implementing CAD technology to better serve clients. This move prompted a rebrand to Strite design + remodel and launched the company into a new era of efficiency, coordination, and innovation.

A New Generation of Leadership

In 2009, Bob purchased the company from Jim and led it through a decade of growth before passing it on to his son, Matt Mundy, in 2019. Matt started with Strite as a teenager, later left to run his own tile company, and returned in 2011 to take on increasing responsibility. His deep understanding of both the craft and the business has kept Strite thriving.

Strong Team, Strong Results

Today, Strite’s team of 14 includes 6 office staff and 8 field employees, many of whom have worked with the company for over a decade. The average office tenure is 16 years; in the field, it’s 10.
