Utah firm buys Treasure Valley construction company

A recently rebranded out-of-state construction firm has purchased another construction company based in Nampa.

Suncore Construction & Materials, Inc., of Spanish Fork, Utah, has acquired , Inc., along with its subsidiary, . Thueson has been in business in the region for more than 30 years and the purchase includes its four locations and 125 employees throughout the valley. All of the Thueson properties will operate under the Suncore name.

Those employees will join the ranks of Suncore’s more than 1,600 employees.

The Utah company recently rebranded and was formerly titled Sunroc. It specializes in construction services and supplies job sites with concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry and more, it stated.

“This acquisition is a meaningful milestone for Suncore and our first since the rebrand,” said Mark Elder, president of the company. “We’re proud to serve communities across Idaho, and this expansion allows us to further extend our reach and strengthen our presence throughout the state.”

Suncore operates in Idaho and Utah, as well as Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Wyoming. Thueson’s president, Lance Thueson, noted Suncore’s priorities in selling to them.

Suncore, founded in 1938, is owned by , Inc., based in Orem, Utah.
