Seven Seven Six, the venture capital firm founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, has acquired ONIT, a Boise-based company that produces officially licensed college sports trading cards.
ONIT creates trading cards for student-athletes across hundreds of collegiate teams, including those at Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and UCLA, among others. In the 2024-25 academic year, the company produced team-specific card sets for 212 teams across 67 Division I schools and worked with more than 8,000 student-athletes ― including more women’s sports athletes than all other trading card companies combined.
“ONIT is a natural fit with Seven Seven Six,” Ohanian said. “It’s an opportunity to create a vehicle for underserved sports to reach their fans through sports cards, a product category I’ve been passionate about since I was a kid. ONIT understands something fundamental about fandom and collecting that others have missed: It’s about community.”

Seven Seven Six has been an early investor in women’s and emerging sports, with a portfolio that includes Chelsea FC Women’s, Angel City FC of the National Women’s Soccer League, Los Angeles Volleyball and ATHLOS Track and Field.
Along with the acquisition, ONIT named Evan Parker as its new CEO. Parker previously held executive roles at NASCAR and The Athletic and co-built the content and community platform Mantel alongside Ohanian and Brent Montgomery.
“With Seven Seven Six’s investment, our university partners and the great team we have in place, we can build the next generation of collectors by creating high-quality cards that resonate with passionate fans at an approachable price point,” Parker said.
The 2026-27 academic year will mark ONIT’s fifth season as an officially licensed trading card manufacturer. Production for 2026 fall sports is underway, with 31 football teams slated to release cards in late August and up to 12 volleyball teams in September.

This month, ONIT is also introducing its first widely distributed retail product, 2026 ONIT Gravity Baseball, which will be available at Walmart and Best Buy. The set features 100 college baseball players from 10 universities and marks the debut of ONIT’s ION optichrome print technology.
The company has seen revenue grow 244% over the past two calendar years, including year-over-year growth of 56.9% in 2025 and a 58.6% improvement in net income for the same period.
According to the company, it will remain headquartered in Boise.
