About 300 people – mostly employees – gathered at the Linen Building April 18 to celebrate. And while they knew their companies had already been named some of the best places to work in Idaho, they didn’t find out what the ranking order was until the awards were handed out, one by one, with No. 1 in each category announced last.
For the sixth year, Idaho Business Review and Populus, a marketing and research firm, identified top Idaho employers in the annual Best Places to Work in Idaho. Read the winning company profiles in a special magazine supplement to the April 19 IBR. The companies were also featured at the April 18 event.
Awards were given in three categories: large companies (100 or more employees), small companies (20 to 99 employees), and a new one for 2013: micro companies (more than 10, fewer than 20 employees).
Joanna Bradley, IT sales and marketing recruitment manager for Redfish Technology, took her company’s No. 1 spot in stride.
“I can’t say I was surprised. I, frankly, think we are the best,” Bradley said.
On the other hand, Jeff Yarnall, owner of three Dutch Bros. franchises, said, “We were more shocked than anything. We were pretty stoked to come in fourth place; it was pretty spectacular for us. It just means we’re doing all the right things.”
