More than 20 Idaho companies have been named to the Inc. 5000, a prestigious list of the fastest-growing privately held small businesses in the U.S.

Idaho companies ranked as high as 23, with ConvertKit, a software company with revenues of $13.8 million and a growth rate of 7,966%, and 28, with Amherst Madison, a real estate company with revenue of $7.8 million and a growth rate of 7,301%. Both are based in Boise.

“For the second year in a row, we have joined an exclusive list of private companies who are on a mission to shake things up and make a dent,” said Amherst Madison CEO and founding partner Nick Schlekeway in a statement.

“Notice how many different industries show up over the years,” said Norris Krueger, founder of Entrepreneurship Northwest. “These aren’t the usual suspects of high growth potential firms that we do celebrate. In fact, it appears that the vast majority of these companies haven’t even raised external equity.”

While many of the companies were based in the Treasure Valley, other areas of the state were represented as well. Post Falls had three companies: NanaMacs Clothing, ranked 364, with revenue of $12 million and a growth rate of 1,253%; Precision Precast Erectors, ranked 2800, a construction company with revenue of $9.8 million and a growth rate of 135% and Mainstream Electric, Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, ranked 3680, with revenue of $5.7 million and a growth rate of 94%.

Idaho Falls had two companies: Stukent, ranked 764, an educational company with revenue of $3.5 million and a growth rate of 570%, and FyberCom, ranked 818, a telecommunications company with revenue of $3.1 million and a growth rate of 523%.

Other cities included Hayden, with Dollar Fulfillment, ranked 297, a logistics and transportation company with revenue of $9.1 million and a growth rate of 1,508%; Coeur d’Alene, with Fatbeam, ranked 2564, a telecommunications company with revenue of $7.1 million and a growth rate of 153% and Twin Falls, with Giltner Logistics, ranked 3229, with revenue of $210 million and a growth rate of 113%.

“I surround myself with people far smarter than me, and build a culture that takes care of its employees,” said Fatbeam CEO Greg Green. “If our employees are taken care of with stock options, vacation, good health care, and are being praised for a job well done, everything else just falls into place.”

Boise-based companies included Velox Media, ranked 181, an advertising and marketing company with revenue of $3.1 million and a growth rate of 2,142%; EETech Media, ranked 301, a media company with revenue of $6.6 million and a growth rate of 1,493%; Lone Cone, ranked 1097, a retail company with revenue of $14.4 million and a growth rate of 382% (for the fourth time); Ventive, ranked 1234, a software company with revenue of $3.9 million and a growth rate of 334% and Cutting Edge Services, ranked 2612, a landscaping company with revenue of $18.1 million and a growth rate of 149%.

Other Treasure Valley companies included Maverick Media Ventures, ranked 254, a Garden City-based consumer products company with revenue of $3.1 million and a growth rate of 1,693%; ClickFunnels, ranked 440, an Eagle-based software company with revenue of $94.6 million and a growth rate of 1,035%; Zennify, ranked 632, a Meridian-based business products and services company with revenue of $9 million and a growth rate of 698%; Verified First, also from Meridian, ranked 1328, a human resources company with revenue of $13.1 million and a growth rate of 311%; Assisting Hands Home Care, ranked 3255, a Nampa-based health company with revenue of $66 million and a growth rate of 111% and In Time Tec, ranked 3812, a Meridian-based software company with revenue of $9 million and a growth rate of 88%.

“These are the fastest-growing that filled out the form,” Krueger noted. “How many others in Idaho didn’t even know about the Inc. list?”
