An expansion project is worth noting. Three successful expansion projects is worth celebrating, so says College of Western Idaho.

To mark the expansion of its campus with three different projects, CWI is holding a ceremonial bridge signing event, which will also reinforce the school’s “commitment to centralizing high-quality educational opportunities for students.”

Work has commenced on CWI’s new Health and Science Building and its Horticulture and Agricultural Science Building. Work will begin on a Student Learning Hub in the fall of 2025.

“CWI’s expansion projects are more than just an addition of buildings, it’s a bold step towards enhancing our educational offerings and our community’s access to cutting-edge resources,” said Gordon Jones, president of the college. “This bridge signing event symbolizes our journey forward together, bridging our past achievements with future possibilities.”

According to the college, the buildings will house advanced classrooms and community spaces. CWI is partnering with ESI and Cushing Terrell to construct the projects at the Nampa campus.

The Health and Science Building, expected to be completed in the summer of 2025, will be 50,000 square feet, with 10,000 square feet unfinished to accommodate for future development.

The Horticulture and Agricultural Science building will be approximately 38,000 square feet of buildings and lab space situated on 40 acres and is slated for a summer of 2025 completion.

The Student Learning Hub is expected to begin construction in fall of 2025 and completion in summer of 2026. It will be approximately 35,000 square feet.

“I am so thankful for the College of Western Idaho which bridges the gap between our workforce and higher education,” said Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling. “They serve a critical role in our community of which I am very thankful.”
