After beginning a search for a new leader late last year, a Meridian-based credit union has selected its new president and CEO.
CapEd Credit Union picked Ray Lindley, who was raised and educated in Idaho, to head the organization after the previous president and CEO, Todd Erickson, announced his retirement in 2024.
Erickson began working for CapEd in 1995 and was named to the leadership role in 2008. Lindley will start with CapEd on June 2.
“We’re excited to welcome Ray as our next president and CEO,” said Barbara Olic-Hamilton, board chair for CapEd’s board of directors, who used DDJ Myers to conduct the nationwide search to fill the position. “His authentic, people-focused leadership style starts from his belief that he can learn something from everyone, so he builds time in his schedule to meet with every employee on a regular basis.”
Lindley’s approach to a model of teamwork to grow a workforce was one of the reasons he stood out to the credit union’s board.
“Ray believes that you grow a workforce by listening to other opinions,” Olic-Hamilton added. “He will guide CapEd into the future and ensure that our top priority remains members’ trust and their financial well-being.”
Lindley has more than 28 years of experience in the financial services industry, with his most recent position being chief operating officer for Elevations Credit Union in Colorado. He has also held leadership positions with JP Morgan Chase/Washington Mutual.
He also holds certification as a credit union executive and earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Northwest Nazarene University in business administration.
“It is an honor to join the CapEd team,” Lindley said. “Getting to know the board and learning more about the organization has cemented my belief that CapEd truly is southern Idaho’s premier financial institution and is poised to deliver even more value in the future. I am excited to be part of such a robust credit union with roots in education and a strong commitment to empowering members while enhancing their financial well-being.”
