Twenty-two students across the Gem State are the recipients of scholarships totaling $55,000.
Spokane-based AgWest Farm Credit awarded 132 students throughout its seven-state service territory with scholarships in three categories for a combined total of $330,000.
“AgWest is honored to provide scholarships for these impressive students, and we are confident this investment in the future will pay strong dividends for the agriculture industry and rural communities we serve,” said Bill Perry, president and CEO.
Each student will receive $2,500 to go toward their future educational endeavors and were awarded in one of three categories: Championing Agriculture Scholarship; Customer Scholarship; and Employee Scholarship.
Championing Agriculture is awarded to students enrolled in a post-secondary school within AgWest’s service area in a program that will lead to a career in agriculture.
Customer is awarded to “qualified customers and dependents of customers … Recipients are graduating high school seniors and college students attending any post-secondary institution or vocational program.”
