United adds Boise to Notre Dame direct football flight

Even though the crisp, fall air can only be imagined during these dry, hot summer days in Idaho, Bronco fans have a reason to cool their jets when planning the coming college football season.

United Airlines is offering a direct flight from Boise Airport to South Bend, Indiana, on Oct. 3 so fans can watch Boise State University take on the Fighting Irish of the University of Notre Dame on Oct. 4.

Typically, flights from Boise to South Bend require at least one stop at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, and some require stops in Denver and Chicago.

United has planned 24 nonstop flights on larger aircraft to accommodate travelers during the college football season for some of the bigger games of the year.

“From historic touchdowns to once-in-a-lifetime plays, these are the moments fans never forget and there’s nothing like being there to witness it live,” said James Starnes, director of Domestic Scheduling at United. “We’ve added flights across the country to some of the biggest college football matchups, giving fans more options to get in on the action and follow their team on the road this season.”

Tickets for the nonstop flights went on sale on July 10. A full list of the nonstop flights is as follows:
