Founded in 2021, Ancora Health Services was launched by two registered nurses and a U.S. Marine veteran medical doctor. Today, the women-owned and women-led organization continues to elevate women in leadership, health care and business as it continues to grow into a respected and innovative hospice and palliative care provider.

The company’s leadership team includes two females serving in CEO and COO roles and at both Ancora offices in Meridian and Fruitland are directed by female executive directors.

In nomination materials, Danielle Henson of Ancora Health Services shared, “This structure reflects more than representation — it demonstrates a deliberate and successful effort to hire, promote and empower women into top leadership positions where they are historically underrepresented. Ancora actively promotes advancement opportunities for women across the organization, working to narrow the gap in gender-normative C-suite roles and cultivating women as leaders in health care and business.”

In addition, the organization provides ongoing professional development opportunities, mentorship and financial support for certification programs to further women’s growth and help them reach their highest potential. Further, Ancora runs a youth volunteer program that provides high school students with service experience and helps them become eligible for college scholarships.

“Through its ownership, leadership structure, mentorship programs and commitment to equity, Ancora has built an organization where women are supported, empowered and celebrated,” Henson said. “Ancora’s impact is visible not only in the patients and families it serves but also in the opportunities it creates for women to flourish in meaningful, purpose-driven careers.”
