Business Impact NW (BINW) demonstrates its commitment to elevating women by expanding access to business resources, providing culturally relevant coaching at no or low-cost, and offering accessible capital and lending programs that support long-term entrepreneurialism. On average, the organization offers 300 trainings each year and serves over 2,000 women annually.
With services that span four states, BINW aims to eliminate barriers that impact women entrepreneurs, especially those in rural communities or in communities of color.
In addition, The Idaho Women’s Business Center (IWBC), which is operated by Business Impact NW, offers statewide programs and coaching designed for women in the Gem State. Approximately 75% of IWBC participants identify as women.
Internally, BINW models the same equity it extends to the community. Women hold half of the executive leadership roles in the company and overall, 70% of staff positions. Employees receive flexible development funding to attend trainings or work on certifications or reach other professional goals, and BINW prioritizes creating career pathways that are tailored to each employee’s aspirations, assuring women have an environment to thrive.
Looking forward, the organization plans to continue its trajectory of strengthening opportunities for women to advance and lead.
Paige Wiscombe shared in nomination materials, “Our organization is committed to offering ongoing professional development, management training and internal leadership pathways that allow women to rise naturally within the organization. We will continue to invest in equitable hiring practices, preserve women’s strong representation in leadership and program management, and expand mentorship and growth opportunities for women at all levels of the organization.”
