There could be a place for your business at J.R. Simplot Co’s future corporate home.
Thornton Oliver Keller, the Boise commercial real estate firm, has planted a “for lease” sign at the corner of Front and Ninth streets for street level space that will be available at the new world headquarters for the iconic local food and agribusiness titan.
“We have a couple small spaces right at the corner of Front and Ninth streets that will probably go for office or retail,” said Mark Schlag, a TOK retail specialist.
That is a combined 7,500 square feet in the smaller annex building. The building will also contain an auditorium, other meeting rooms and sensory-testing facilities that allow for product testing for taste, smell and texture.
“We’d like to get a nice lunch/dinner place in there,” Schlag said.
Another 5,700 square feet are available on the ground floor of the primary Simplot office building under construction now along Front and 11th streets. Schlag said that space more likely will be service retail-oriented.
“We want to start negotiating (with potential tenants) so tenant improvements can get started as the building is getting finalized,” Schlag said.
Simplot is expected to move into its new nine-story headquarters in fall 2016 with about 900 employees.
