Despite challenges presented by economic inflation and staffing shortages, tribe-owned Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel accomplished a lot this year — from casino and golf course performance to educational program donations and supporting community members.
“We strive to help people while being fiscally responsible and successful. The fact that we did this amidst a volatile economy and staffing shortfall is particularly gratifying — a great testament to our dedicated team members and their hard, smart work,” Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel CEO Laura Penney said in a statement.
In 2022, the casino donated more than $200,000 to 40 different charities through its Coeur Connections program and sponsorships. Beneficiaries of donations include Blessing under the Bridge, Tools to Schools, Kootenai Cancer Center, Redband Rally, Operation Fly Together, Coeur d’ Alene Tribal Domestic Violence, and Spokane Falls Trout.
Despite hiring challenges last year, Coeur d’Alene Casino leadership was able to hire several teammates, which is credited as helping to maintain premier leisure and entertainment experiences for its guests and visitors.
According to Penney, the Casino Resort Hotel is planning more, bigger and better promotions in 2023 as its 30th anniversary approaches.
“We will be announcing those [promotions] imminently and continue doing so throughout the year,” she stated.
Last year, the casino resort and its amenities also garnered a significant amount of praise, including its Circling Raven Golf Course being ranked the No. 1 public course in Idaho by GOLF Magazine. Additionally, American Bus Association’s Destinations Magazine named Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel to its “2022 Best of the Best” in the Lodging category.
