A Coeur d’Alene-based fast-food chain with a healthy slant is looking to grow within the Boise market.

Over the course of the next five years, Pita Pit, a chain with a focus on healthy Mediterranean dishes, plans to open 10-plus locations within the Treasure Valley area. It just needs franchisees.

The company stated that it has gone through a “brand refresh” and is looking to reintroduce itself to the Boise customer base. It is “repositioning the franchise as the world’s first Mediterranean fast-food concept ― in an effort to help facilitate market growth.”

Along with the new branding, Pita Pit has modernized its restaurant design, added drive-throughs and has “reimagined” its menu with things like Greek Grilled Cheese, Chicken Club, Athens Steak, Athens Chicken, Cowboy Steak and Say Cheese.

“With a growing demand for healthier dining options across the country and fast-food options on every corner, we have carved out a unique opportunity within the QSR space,” said Peter Riggs, CEO of Pita Pit. “By implementing a drive-through and prioritizing fresh flavors, we are able to continue the growth of our cult-like following in communities such as Boise for years to come.”

The healthier menu will also include vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

The company, which was founded in 1995 in Canada, stated it is in the process of seeking out single-unit and multi-unit franchisees to open the additional locations. There is currently a location in Meridian and one in Boise.

“The new drive-through model allows franchise partners more real estate options, as the smaller footprint of about 800 to 1,000 square feet can flex to fit into a variety of layouts that fit the needs of any given area,” a release stated. “This smaller option, created to accommodate more delivery and pick-up orders, will also reduce the breadth of franchisees’ financial commitments.”
