Health care — working at nearly all sides of the table — has been where Therasa Bell has invested the majority of her career. After seeing the challenges and significant costs that came with sharing patient records, she set out to find a better and safer way to exchange patient information. Kno2 was established, and so far, the company has had success solving fundamental problems in health care.

Despite an initial immediate and disruptive impact on the company at the beginning of the pandemic, Kno2 has continued to grow. The company ranked 1,544 in Inc. Magazine’s list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America the last two years, up from 2,107 in 2020. The company has also been named the largest communication network in health care, connecting to 2.3 million providers around the country.

According to Bell, Kno2 raised $15 million last year in Series A funding that was co-led by Health Enterprise Partners (HEP) and Providence Ventures. “This new funding is accelerating continued expansion of connectivity and workflows across the platform while growing the breadth and depth of the partner base integrated with the company’s application programming interfaces (APIs),” she said. “This job and company are not for the faint of heart — it’s hard work every day. The opportunity to change entire communities, such as Boise, to transition to electronic, secured sharing of patient information between care providers and payers is a ton of fun. It’s an exciting time for Kno2!”
