As the fourth-largest staffing firm in the United States — according to Staffing Industry Analysts’ latest report — and top 25 for Entrepreneur’s 2022 Franchise 500 list, Express Employment International might seem like it has few markets left yet to conquer. However, Idaho Falls and Twin Falls are two on the list.
“The business model of Express Employment Professionals has proven repeatedly to work in communities that value hard work, resiliency and determination. We have successful offices across the United States, in all types of markets, but the business climate specifically in southeastern Idaho is very attractive for Express,” said Kenny Reinbold, digital branding manager at Express Employment International. “In 2021, we put more than 586,000 people to work, in a wide range of jobs, many of which can be found in this part of the state.”

The franchise stated it believes that Idaho Falls and Twin Falls have potential to house motivated, driven franchise owners and are currently looking for individuals to fill these roles in each city respectively. The company sees the two towns as strong, growing communities that can put many people to work. Reinbold quoted the average Express Employment office as employing more than 600 individuals each year. The company surmises if a franchise were to open in both of these cities, business owners could make an immediate and explosive difference to their local job market.
Currently, Express Employment already has offices in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Lewiston and Pocatello. As Reinbold put it, these are the franchise’s last two territories in the state.
Express Employment has 860 locations operating out of the United States, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. It has a team of over 300 support employees who assist all offices as well as the headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The business doesn’t serve a single industry. Reinbold stated that Express employs workers in any field from warehouse and assembly roles to welding, machine operation and engineering to traditional office jobs like accounting, administration, customer service and data entry.
When examining the Idaho market in particular, Reinbold said that Express has seen and felt the boom of Idaho growth. This rapid expansion makes for the perfect location for businesses like Express. While some franchise offices may focus more on a single field within an employable area, Idaho franchise owners are offering help in a myriad of occupations to help meet demand.
Franchise owners who operate a successful business can make a massive impact for themselves, but also for future generations of business owners. Express Employment believes it can assist in this change; it believes in this concept so much that it’s waiving its franchise fee to encourage hopefuls to step up and take the leap toward franchise success.
But, the company isn’t looking for just anyone. Express is looking for someone with a business background, leadership skills, self-motivation and someone who is ready to build those aforementioned relationships with their community. At the same time, franchisees don’t need to have experience with sales or the staffing industry. 95% of Express franchise owners don’t.
A day in the life of an Idaho Falls or Twin Falls franchise owner could look a lot like relationship building and talking with other business owners and decision makers. The franchise owner is expected to be out of the office, developing the business on a larger scale, while an internal team could spend time filling job openings, recruiting and interviewing candidates and reaching out to local employers to pitch individuals who are a good fit for the job.
For now, all of this will remain theoretical until Express finds that ideal candidate to fit the bill.
