David Roberts, assistant vice president and business development officer at D.L. Evans Bank, initially aspired to be a teacher. Despite growing up with parents in the industry, he wanted to enter education to help shape young minds. However, fate had other plans.

“Little did I know years later I would be recruited into a career and industry that for one, I never thought I would find myself in, and second, that I would love and have an extreme passion for,” Roberts said.

With nearly two decades of banking experience, Roberts has become a pillar in the Boise financial sector, known for his dedication to both clients and civic causes. His career trajectory has included roles at KeyBank, US Bank and Wells Fargo before finding his home at D.L. Evans Bank. Throughout his professional journey, Roberts has maintained a commitment to community involvement that sets him apart from his peers.

“David has 20 plus years of experience in finance and banking which gives him credibility and his clients have a great deal of trust in him,” said Paul Fleming, senior account manager for the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce. “David has his clients’ best interest in mind and if he is not able to help them, he will refer them to another banker who might be able to help. That is the type of guy he is.”

Roberts’ community engagement is extensive. He serves on the boards of Special Olympics Idaho and the Garden City Chamber of Commerce and is involved with numerous organizations including the Saint Alphonsus Foundation, Boise Rescue Mission and Junior Achievement of Idaho.

“I truly live by the motto ‘We make a life by what we give,’” Roberts said. “I feel that this directly echoes the philosophy of every service organization I am lucky to serve on behalf, as well as the bank’s culture.”

His commitment to service has not gone unnoticed. Grace Davis Lasco, a retired district operations manager, recalls recruiting Roberts.

“He represented our company beyond the greatest expectations and assisted clients with their goals and dreams continuously,” she said. “He supported every new business and was their biggest advocate.”

As he continues to grow in his role at D.L. Evans Bank, Roberts remains focused on his ultimate goal: To leave every life he touches a little better than before.
