Tyler Andrew’s first job working a paper route for the Tacoma News Tribune taught him the value of managing cash flow, selling a product, and functioning early in the morning. He applied those values as he completed college and entered the working world, earning an undergraduate degree from Boise State University and then a graduate degree in communications from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.

He secured a role at a boutique public relations and issues management firm after that and began managing accounts and handled most of the efforts there.

Andrew said, “During that time that I became interested in leading an organization, and through the encouragement of colleagues, started the valuation process to buy the firm. The opportunity to lead Better Business Bureau Great West + Pacific came just as I had started this process. It’s been a dream come true to lead this organization. I’ve learned something new every day!”

He’s now been in that role for 11 years, and says it’s been an honor to be able to positively impact the community.

“I’ve had the privilege of speaking with hundreds of passionate leaders, learning about their journeys and challenges,” Andrew said. “Beyond these one-on-one connections, I love celebrating local businesses through our BBB program. Presenting these awards to owners and their teams across the Treasure Valley is always a special moment.”

Andrew shared that another impactful aspect of the work he and his team are doing is educating consumers on how to find trustworthy businesses. Last year alone, they helped protect Idaho consumers from nearly $879,000 in potential scams.

He shared that has been a huge part of his career success and credits three mentors specifically: His wife and accountability partner for more than 29 years, Susan Littleton, a longtime Micron executive and his manager early in his career, and Ron Price, his executive coach in Boise. When asked what advice he has for others, he said that it’s important to focus on learning, listening and growing daily.

“Develop a strong foundation in business fundamentals, especially in areas that aren’t strengths, while staying open to new perspectives,” Andrew said. “I’ve learned that success isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about asking the right questions, making thoughtful decisions, and learning from failures. Leadership isn’t about the title — it’s about service, impact, accountability and continuous growth.”

Outside of work, Andrew is a family man and sports enthusiast who loves to watch his teenage son play club baseball. He’s also a golf aficionado and played at the college level in the 1990s and enjoys playing in tournaments to support the Idaho Golf Association.
