An annual series aimed at finding solutions to attainable and affordable housing is returning to the Treasure Valley in April.
Housing Week, which takes place from April 13 to 17 this year, is a community-wide series organized by the Urban Land Institute Idaho, and its goal is advancing housing initiatives in the region.
The Urban Land Institute Idaho, a district council of the worldwide ULI, works on responsible land use to create sustainable and thriving communities. Through the Housing Week series, ULI Idaho is highlighting “solutions, partnerships and on-the-ground projects that advance attainable and affordable housing across the Treasure Valley,” it stated in a release.
The organization stated that the series underscores its commitment to finding solutions in housing.
“Housing Week is where conversation becomes collaboration,” said Karlee May, executive director of ULI Idaho. “Housing Week is a platform to surface best practices, share resources and tour case studies ― our partners from across the state are stepping up to educate, discuss, tour and help advance housing opportunities in Idaho.”
ULI Idaho stated that this year’s program will bring together leaders in both public and private sectors, practitioners and residents to hold forums, site tours, networking and workshops focused on “skill building.”
To begin the weeklong program, an open house will be held at the historic Boise Train Depot, followed by a pro-housing advocacy lunch and learn, a Boise housing bus tour, a walking tour, financial discussions and much more.
More information can be found on ULI Idaho’s events page, including registration and how to help sponsor the event.
“We know from community feedback that housing is a top priority for Boise residents, and ULI is bringing the community together during Housing Week to learn, share ideas, explore solutions, tour new housing developments and connect around our common goal of creating more affordable homes,” said Kiah Jones, Mayor’s Housing advisor for the City of Boise.
