Axiom Fitness is gearing up to open its newest location in The Village at Meridian.
A late-February opening is slated. Tenant improvements are wrapping up at the 35,000-square-foot facility near the corner of Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue. Floors are being installed, and the locker rooms are nearly complete. Pool construction is also underway, said Axiom President JP Green.
Construction costs aren’t being disclosed. AnCor is the general contractor and architect.
“We’ve known for several years we wanted to be in this area, and to be a fitness facility anchor in this development is exciting,” Green said.
Membership inquiries have come from Meridian, west Boise and Eagle, he said. Axiom already has three clubs in the Treasure Valley, the newest of which opened on Fairview Avenue in Boise in 2007. Prior to that, the Parkcenter Axiom in southeast Boise opened in 2004. No immediate plans to open another facility are in the works.
“We might consider it in the future, and with our own brand, we can grow and expand as we want,” Green said.
The location at The Village will include several technological features and amenities, including movie viewing during workouts, Internet access, new equipment, a spa and towel services. About 80 people will work on-site.
