CapEd and the Idaho Council on Economic Education are providing continuing education credits for Idaho teachers using the Financial Fitness for Life program and curriculum.

CapEd’s annual and sustaining $6,500 contribution underwrites costs associated with the CEU and provides printed resources for teachers to use in their classrooms. Classes for the CEU will be held in Boise and Twin Falls. CapEd purchased 35 mobile devices with a cart to carry and charge the units.

“This will build a strong base of capable teachers teaching financial literacy principles to Idaho students,” ICEE CEO Leon Maynard said.

CapEd will also hold six youth camps at their Meridian and Nampa locations for youth between the ages of 8 to 10 and 11 to 14. The three-day camps are called Camp CashEd and are built around key financial fitness principles ranging from how to manage a checking account to entrepreneurial skills. The camps will be available June, July and August. To learn more visit econidaho.org or contact (208) 426-2943.
