Junior Achievement of Idaho joined with St. Luke’s to host a “JA in a Day” event at Lewis and Clark Elementary May 13. More than 40 St. Luke’s volunteer mentors used Junior Achievement’s lesson plans to teach JA programs to more than 500 students from kindergarten to sixth grade. The funding from St. Luke’s was provided through Community Health Improvement Fund (CHIF) and St. Luke’s FitOne group hosted activities at recess.
Kindergarteners learned about personal budgeting using stories about helping, working, earning and saving while sixth graders tackled key aspects of the global economy, what makes world trade work and how trade affects their daily lives.
Junior Achievement’s programs are aligned with Idaho Core Standards.
