Eight members have joined the board of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce including Laura Cobb, Gerald Hunter, Charlene Maher, Susan Morris, and Jeff Taylor. These five members will serve a three-year term. In addition, Dave Terrell, Brett Lensing, and Chase Erkins will join the chamber’s board in various roles for one-year termss.
Laura Cobb is the vice president of public relations and community development at Citi Cards, a division of Citigroup, in Meridian. Cobb joined Citi in 2005 and is responsible for site public relations, internal and external communication strategies, philanthropic programs including volunteer engagement, and event management at the 1,300-person operations site. Before joining Citi, Cobb worked at the Boise Metro Chamber and DirecTV. Cobb holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Boise State University.
Gerald Hunter is president and executive director of the Idaho Housing and Finance Association. Hunter has served as the association’s president since 1998. Hunter is a past president (2010 – 2012) and board member of the National Council of State Housing Agencies. He serves as chairman of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Financial Services Advisory Board and a member of the chamber’s Policy Committee. He was a founding member of Fannie Mae’s Affordable Housing Advisory Council. He began his career with KPMG, an accounting firm, serving clients in the financial service and real estate industries. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Utah.
Charlene Maher is president and chief executive officer of Blue Cross of Idaho, or BCI, Health Service, Inc., and is a board member at BCI and Blue Cross of Idaho Care Plus, Inc. Maher joined BCI in 2016 with 25 years of experience in the health care industry. She is on the board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in Chicago and of the Idaho Association of Health Plans, and is on the Your Health Idaho State Health Insurance Exchange. Maher previously served as the senior vice president and chief marketing officer for EmblemHealth. Maher holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Texas Health Science Center and began her professional career as a registered nurse.
Susan Morris began her career in Albertsons Denver Division while still in high school and worked her way up over 30 years. In 2010, she was senior vice president of sales and merchandising when she left Supervalu to join Albertsons LLC’s Southwest Division as grocery sales manager, and was appointed vice president of marketing and merchandising in 2012. Morris served as president the Intermountain division for two years prior to her role as Denver Division president in 2015. Susan was named EVP, Retail Operations for the east region in 2016, and the following year moved to lead the company’s west region operations.
Jeff Taylor is senior vice president and chief financial officer of St. Luke’s Health System. He provides overall financial leadership for St. Luke’s Health System and has oversight over for financial accounting, planning and reporting, treasury, revenue cycle, payor and provider relations, and health information management. Taylor served as controller of St. Luke’s from 1994 to 2008. Prior to joining St. Luke’s, he was a senior manager in the Boise office of Deloitte and Touche LLP. He is on the board at College of Idaho Board and United Way of Treasure Valley. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the College of Idaho.
Dave Terrell manages the Southern Idaho Region Commercial Lending groups and the retail banking team at Washington Trust. His responsibilities include bank development and representation in the marketplace. Terrell has 30 years of experience in the banking industry, including 14 years with Washington Trust. Terrell participates in various civic, community, and non-profit organizations.
Brett Lensing has worked over the last 20 years in Dallas, San Francisco, Rotterdam, and Boise managing large integration teams and projects. He’s worked at Micron for 7 years. He is on the board for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. He holds a degree in psychology from Trinity University.
Chase Erkins is a principal with Lee and Associates Idaho, LLC. Erkins joined Lee and Associates in 2012. His services include site selection, financial analysis, deal negotiation and market research. Prior to joining Lee and Associates, Erkins held management, operations and sales positions with JPMorgan Chase Bank. He holds a degree in business communications from the University of Idaho.
