There will be no mask mandate for Central District Health.

The board of Idaho Public Health District 4, also known as Central District Health, voted three-to-three on the proposed upgrade of its current health advisory to a health order at its special meeting on the afternoon of Dec. 15. Since under the rules for the district, a tie vote by the board is a failed vote, the vote failed and the advisory was not upgraded to a district-wide order with the force of law throughout the four counties in the district.

Board members Megan Blanksma, Elt Hasbrouck and Ryan Stirm voted against the motion and Diana Lachionda, Ted Epperly, M.D., and Jane Young, R.N, C.R.N.-P. voted for the motion.

The proposed order that failed covered more than just a mask mandate. It also contained provisions to limit the size of gatherings and the seating capacity of certain businesses.
