A design firm with 100 years of history has brought its operations to Boise and the Treasure Valley.
Founded in Stuttgart, Germany, Exyte recently opened its doors on a new Boise location after operating in the U.S. since 1989.
Among its first projects in the region, Exyte will be working with the City of Boise and Idaho Department of Commerce to secure an office building in the urban renewal district, specifically at 1500 Shoreline Drive, a statement read.
Exyte stated that its expansion into the area will create an additional engineering jobs in Boise and “a full range of other career opportunities.” It touts itself as a “global leader in the design, engineering and delivery of ultra-clean and sustainable facilities for high-tech industries.”
“This announcement from Exyte adds to the tremendous growth our state has seen, particularly within the semiconductor industry,” said Tom Kealey, director of the department of commerce. “With this announcement, Exyte will create high-paying jobs and economic opportunity as well as build upon the supply chain needed to support this important industry in the U.S.”
Mark Garvey, a board member for the company, expressed their enthusiasm for the new base of operations.
“The expansion in Boise marks the next milestone in our success story,” he said. “Partnering with the state, city and community stakeholders is a top priority for Exyte. Only together, can we create solutions that will preserve and enhance the quality of modern life.”
The company is actively working to build its workforce, stating that it’s multi-billion-dollar investments “require a vast support network.” It is prioritizing recruitment within the Treasure Valley and will work with the local schools and Boise State University to establish internship opportunities.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Exyte to our community,” said Mayor Lauren McClean. “This expansion brings economic growth and family wage jobs to Boise, enhancing our economic landscape, and Exyte is already contributing to our community in meaningful ways by hosting local job fairs, conducting food drives for our schools, and prioritizing environmental sustainability. I look forward to the positive impact this will have on our city and Exyte’s commitment to sustaining a city for everyone.”
Exyte stated it is also committed to protecting the environment in and around Boise, which it said it is achieving through adherence to an environmental sustainability plan it has created in collaboration with government organizations.
